As the country’s first seaside resort Scarborough in unmatched for it’s architectural splendour and dramatic views across its North and South Bays. The town is now attracting new crowds with its funky shops, modern bars and restaurants and a burgeoning surf scene. Museums, galleries and a medieval castle are just some of its cultural gems and for those looking for something to do once the sun has gone down, there’s a lively entertainment scene.
A ruined Abbey looks down on the popular maritime town of Whitby and its bustling quayside. Steeped in history, each twist of the town's close-cobbled streets reveals a different story from explorers and smugglers to Dracula and whaling.
