The North Yorkshire Year of Adventure website is a great place to start when searching for things to do in North Yorkshire’s great outdoors. With introductions to a variety of activities, there’s plenty to tempt you to venture outside and explore.

With 52 weeks in which to explore the great North Yorkshire outdoors, experiencing the Year of Adventure is the greatest way to ensure you see what’s on offer and learn how you can get involved.

A sense of space and solitude marks the North York Moors National Park, where ridge upon ridge of heather moorland roll into the purple distance.

The Yorkshire Dales has some of the most beautiful and unique scenery in the world. With spectacular walking, cycling and riding country, the Yorkshire Dales is an outdoor paradise!  There are valleys, crags, peaks, caves and moorlands that stretch over 1,600 square miles.
