Horse Trekking

There are few things finer than exploring the
countryside on horseback and the Yorkshire Dales

There are few things finer than exploring the countryside on horseback and the Yorkshire Dales National Park offers ample opportunities for riders of all abilities and experience.

By riding quietly, you will perhaps see more wildlife than by any other means, because animals and birds will often not view horses as a threat, and the person on top may not be noticed at all!  There are also plenty of areas for the horses to stretch their legs so you can enjoy an exhilarating canter through the open moorland.

The Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre is a small family run stables located in Malham, a pretty village in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre breeds and trains Dales Ponies, a rare native breed specifically bred for the local environment.

Horse TrekkingThe Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre is an ideal place to take a riding break as it combines breathtaking scenery with the Dales pony and its unbeatable temperament. Dales ponies have the willingness needed to cope with the varied terrain and that priceless "safe" feel to enable you to trust your four legged partner to take you beyond your wildest expectations.

The Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre can offer everything from a 2 hour lesson through to a five day holiday, and caters for all abilities with the flexibility to tailor a holiday designed specifically for you. Their Malham based breaks can offer a mixture of lessons and treks, you can design your own programme, whilst their post ride trails offer seasoned regular riders the excitement and challenge of riding through the beautiful National Park.

With the wealth of bridleways on Malham's doorstep, Yorkshire Dales Trekking Centre is a great place to spend your riding break. Spend either 2 or 4 days in the saddle either by mixing riding lessons and trekking together to develop your skills or choose pure trekking and day trails.
