Simply Yorkshire - A great day out!

Viking at Clifford's Tower, York

To say a visit to Yorkshire can be eventful is a bit of an understatement!

Visiting Yorkshire can be an experience like no other. The artistic life of the region is flourishing as never before, with everything from nationally acclaimed dance at the Northern Ballet Theatre and the finest in cinema from around the world at the Bradford International Film Festival to the intimate and compelling David Hockney 1853 Gallery at Salts Mill. There’s even world-class opera from Opera North.

On a more local level, you’ll find cities and towns regularly transformed by colourful festivals and lively cultural events. Take York: amongst the highlights is a spectacular celebration of the Chinese New Year (including a dazzling lantern parade through the medieval streets), a nationally renowned Festival of Food and Drink, and the Roman Festival celebrating the city’s past with military reenactments, a Living History camp and even chariot racing! It’s the same story throughout the region, so be ready for a feast of festivities wherever you roam.
