Children will be captivated by a visit to The Deep in Hull, featuring Europe’s deepest tunnel and a ride in a glass lift through a 10m tank! You can also now sit and enjoy a meal whilst watching sharks in their tank!

For an interactive experience, visit Eureka!, Halifax Designed especially for children up to11 years old, the museum has more than 400 must-touch exhibits and a full programme of events and activities.

After an action packed day out, take a well deserved rest in one of the many great restaurants catering for families, where you are sure to receive a big Yorkshire welcome along with a fantastic children’s menu. Everyone loves Fish and Chips and there is no better place than by the sea at the Magpie Café in Whitby.

For a traditional experience with home cooked familiar food, try the Mashouse in Sheffield where the menu foundations lay with traditional British dishes such as Bangers and Mash and bread and butter pudding.

Fun Filled Days Out

There are so many options for a fun filled family day out in Yorkshire. Enjoy a picnic by the river at Bolton Abbey, visit Hesketh Farm and take a ride on the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway.

On route stop off at the World of James Herriot in Thirsk. Spend a day by the sea on North Yorkshire’s Heritage Coast line offering hours of fun, paddling, exploring rock pools, making sandcastles, boat trips, pleasure steamers and amusements.

For a day of history and heritage, discover York where children will love interactive exhibits at the National Railway Museum and meeting the residents of Kirkgate at the Castle Museum and coming face to face with the Vikings at the JORVIK Centre!

 

Experience the thrill of a steam locomotive, or the power of a diesel engine on a nostalgic journey through spectacular countryside with a day at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Pickering. Take the opportunity to enjoy a day trip with a difference and the chance to visit the 1912-style station at Levisham, or venture into the spectacular Heartbeat countryside, Goathland. You may wish to spend a day exploring the historic market town of Pickering or venture to the coast for fish and chips at Whitby.
