Routes & Experiences
These two accessible fishing platforms are fully adapted for wheelchairs. Accessible parking is available on site.
These give you access to fish the River Ure, and this is a great trout and grayling fishing site. Here the river winds lazily through meadow land and you will also often see birds such as dippers, grey wagtails, kingfishers and sand martins.
Hawes is one of the Dales’ highest towns and lies within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is on the Pennine Way. It’s an ideal destination for a stop over for long distance walkers, or ideal if you fancy combining a spot of walking with some quiet time by the River.
Set amongst spectacular scenery, Hawes is a traditional market town with narrow winding cobbled streets and a real sense of history and tradition. These streets lead to the market square which hosts an array of shops, galleries and tearooms – an ideal place to sit and watch the world go by.
Suitable for wheelchair users
The leaflet 'Access for All in Wensleydale' has further information. This is available for all National Park Centres.
