West Yorkshire is home to the cosmopolitan cities of Leeds and Bradford, a place for great countryside escapes and many heritage sites.


Temple Newsam, Leeds It is an irony which would no doubt have caused huge amusement to the aristocratic Lady Hertford, former incumbent of Temple Newsam House.  For her sworn enemy, Earl Grey, lent his name to one of the traditional teas being offered in a new, high-class high tea menu being served at her former home.
Now a new, sumptuous high tea menu has been created at Temple Newsam in her honour, with the Lady Hertford High Tea featuring an extravagant selection of delicious sandwiches, specialist teas, indulgent cakes and preserves. Created as a tantalising treat for that special occasion, the teas cost £7.95 per person and are available on Sundays only from noon to 4pm (May-September)  throughout the summer.  Groups of 6 please book on 0113 2645535. A sample menu includes: a selection of teas- Earl Grey, Lady Grey, Darjeeling, Lapsang Souchong, peppermint, fruit selection, camomile, Yorkshire breakfast tea or coffee; ginger beer; finger sandwiches filled with Yorkshire ham and mustard, cream cheese and chive, egg mayonnaise and cress;  accompanied by mini Yorkshire curd tart, mini chocolate éclair, Temple fruit cake and Wensleydale and home-made scone with cream and preserve.
During the rest of the week there is a wide selection of delicious cakes, teas and hot food available, including Rare Breed sausages and burgers from the Farm itself in the Stable Courtyard Tea Room which is open in the Summer Monday to Friday 10am  10.30am - 4.30pm and Sat - Sun 10.30am - 5.30pm and Winter Tues to Sunday 10.30am- 4.15pm.

Lotherton Hall, Leeds The Stable Courtyard Cafe has an excellent range of delicious cakes and pastries baked on the premises using secret recipes.  There is also a wide range of sandwiches, hot soups and tasty hot snacks.  Plenty of room for groups to eat together.  During the summer the cafe is open daily 9.30am - 5pm and during the winter Tuesday - Sunday 9.30am - 4pm. Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield is home to over 40 sculptures, situated in 500 acres. The Country Park features a changing display of bronze sculptures, which perfectly fill the horizon as you roam around the beautiful grounds, enjoying the fresh country air. Spend time in the Cafe, discussing the art and exhibitions and relax with a selection of food and drinks.

Thornton Hall Farm Country Park, Nr Skipton Nestled in the village of Thornton-in-Craven just 6 miles west of Skipton, this delightful attraction combines friendly farm animals, a huge play barn and cosy tearoom. Children will enjoy discovering the all-weather Wizzick Play Barn and will love feeding the farms’ friendly inhabitants, greeting the newest arrivals and hitching a ride on a giant caterpillar! Visitors of all ages can climb aboard the Wizzick Farm Safari for a unique, fun and educational guided tour of the farm.  The tearoom serves a selection of teas including Twinings Infusion Teas, as well as a range of coffees and hot chocolates. Wentworth Garden Centre With the philosophy 'Customer is King' the Garden Centre has grown and developed over the years to become a friendly and well established place where you can browse for goods, enjoy the gardens or relax in the tea rooms. Sewerby Hall & Gardens, Bridlington Family events, concerts an exhibitions are all part of the appeal of Sewerby Hall.
