White Rose Awards Finalists announced

FINALISTS ANNOUNCED FOR THE 2008 WHITE ROSE AWARDS

Yorkshire's 'tourism oscars' are on the horizon, and the lucky finalists have just been announced! The awards, named after the famous white rose which is recognisable as the symbol of Yorkshire, and formally the 'House of York', have had a record number of entries this year.

Yorkshire Tourist Board hosts this annual event as a way of recognising excellence throughout the tourism industry. The finalists for all seventeen categories have been announced and the judges will now spend the next three months reviewing the businesses short listed.

The winners will be announced at a glittering awards ceremony to be held at Bridlington Spa on 25th September 2008. Bridlington Spa has recently undergone a multi-million pound redevelopment programme and is now a premier venue for hosting the best in drama, music and dance.

Winners from the White Rose Awards 2008 (excluding Best Newcomer to Tourism and Yorkshire Pub of the Year) will be put forward as Yorkshire’s nominations for the national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2009. The awards ceremony is a great way of celebrating excellence in Yorkshire and bringing all the businesses together for a spectacular night of prestige.
