Routes & Experiences
Whilst hardened ramblers will be very much at home with an Ordnance Survey Map, a compass and a flask of coffee, for those who enjoy more leisurely walks - whether just for an hour or so, or for a whole day of walking (with regular stops for refreshment and recuperation!) , then English Heritage sites offer fantastic landmarks to start and end your visits.
These walks make the most of existing trails around the region, including the Cleveland Way, to take you through some of North Yorkshire's finest countryside.
Whether you want to walk to observe wildlife in its native habitats, follow the routes as a way of enjoying some of the finest views that Yorkshire has to offer, or as a more spiritual trek following the routes of pilgrims from many hundreds of years ago, these trails and routes are wonderful ways of exploring the region.
