Todmorden's character and history stem from its position as the meeting point of three steep-sided valleys. At the centre of the town is the magnificent Grade I listed Town Hall, opened in 1875 it stands at the heart of the Town.
Todmorden is a Fair Trade Town and there's a real buzz created by the mix of specialist shops and the Victorian indoor market and busy outdoor market are well renowned. Cosy teashops and contemporary cafes are perfect for a break, or enjoy a picnic at Centre Vale Park, a haven for children with treasure trail, play area and reptile house. Combine your trip with a visit to the Toy and Model Museum, a treasure trove of over 5,000 toys and models.
The Pennine vistas and links to the Calderdale Way and Pennine Way at Stoodley Pike attract walkers, cyclists and riders in growing number. Explore the rugged splendour of the surrounding hills and valleys, or amble along the restored towpaths of the Rochdale Canal or town trail.
