Whitby AbbeyScarborough Castle to Whitby Abbey (Cleveland Way)

Walking level: RED
Distance: 21miles

Explore the most breathtaking locations on the North Yorkshire coastline; take the Cleveland Way National Trail from Scarborough Castle to Whitby Abbey.

Get a king's eye view of the dramatic Jurassic coastline and the town of Scarborough below from the walls of the castle.

Scarborough Castle's turbulent history will not fail to inspire you as you begin your walk.  The castle has survived the Roman Army, Viking invaders, medieval kings, Civil War besiegers and a Wold War 1 German Naval bombardment.

Be transported back in time by the spectacular events programme at Scarborough Castle with King Henry's Joust and The Power of the Normans plus many more.
