Ryedale Rumble Cyclosportive

Ryedale Rumble Cyclosportive

27th July - an event for the more professional cyclist

Week 29 - On Wheels

Cycle through North YorkshireLevel of Fitness
There are three route options available from 90km through 190km.

Experience
The Ryedale Rumble is a serious cyclosportive event organised by British Cycling.  Held at the end of July the Rumble now takes in the climbs of Boltby Bank and Hawnby before heading through Helmsley to the North York Moors in what promises to be a very challenging route. It will feature the usual BC Yorkshire fare of a well signed route with tee-shirt and fully stocked feeding arrangements.

This new start location at St Martin's Ampleforth Preparatory School, Gilling Castle, Gilling East, North Yorkshire enables us to begin with a South Westerly loop that takes in the fearsome Boltby Bank before heading through Helmsley and to the North York Moors circuit, retained from our first edition of the event. In the closing stages of the Sportive the Rosedale Chimney Bank climb will now be closer to the finish. The final run-in holds a sting in the tail with a stiff hairpin climb up into the magnificent grounds of St. Martin's.

Event registration will take place at the Blagden Building, the schools new performing arts centre, with riders then taking to the road with timing devices. Each of the three routes has been allocated standards that will be tough but achievable, though we do recommend that both the distances and your fitness levels are carefully considered when choosing your route.

Have a go
The date on 27 July, is a time of year when the North York Moors are at their scenic best.
