From green routes suitable for people with a modest level of fitness through red routes that require a high level of fitness and stamina to the black route that is only suitable for very active people used to prolonged effort.

The Experience
Explore over 50 miles of trails around Dalby Forestry.

From peaceful routes along Ellerburn Valley to challenging climbs and sweeping singletrack with stunning views across the North York Moors, there is something for all levels of ability.

Start the green, red and blue routes from Low Dalby. Green, Red and Black routes can also be started from Dixon's Hollow car park in the middle of the forest.

Want to hire a bike or need a spare inner tube? Visit Purple Mountain Bike Centre in Dalby Courtyard. Bike a bit muddy? You'll find a bike wash at Dalby Courtyard.

Have a go
Dalby Forest, near Pickering. Access is via the A169 Pickering to Whitby road. Look for brown tourist signs.

There is an admission charge of £7 per car, different rates apply for other vehicles. An excellent value season ticket is available.

Woodland BikingYou will need a mountain bike in good working order, suitable outdoor clothing and we recommend a cycle helmet.

Need to hire a bike? Looking for spares and repairs to your bike? Check out the Purple Mountain Bike Centre (01751 460011) in the Dalby Courtyard.

Refreshments are available at the Tree Tops Restaurant in the Visitor Centre or at the Purple Mountain Bike Centre in Dalby Courtyard.
