It's a well known fact that Guy Fawkes was born in the heart of Yorkshire, York. A slightly less known fact is that the Yorkshire community annually, on the 5th November, come together to put on a wide range of special events that guarantee to light up your evening. Whether your preference is a bonfire, a fireworks display or just a good old-fashioned get together, Yorkshire has something for everyone. Below are some of the highlights that are not to be missed this year.

For an amazing bonfire night to remember, remember in York the home of Guy Fawkes, book your tickets for The York Maze Fireworks Spectacular. Held every year on 5th November there will be fireshows, the explosive lighting of York's biggest bonfire, food stalls, live music, sideshows and of course the most amazing fireworks show chorographed to music.
A relaxed bonfire night perfect for both friends and families. They will have live music, the fire pits roaring and Mulled Wine! Free entry and delicious food and drinks will be available throughout the evening.
North Yorkshire's biggest firework spectacular returns to Castle Howard. Set against the magnificent illuminated backdrop of the house, Kaboom's impressive display will fill the sky with colour and reflect in the mirror like Great Lake. There'll be a whole evening of entertainment with live music and colourful characters on the stage hosted by Minster FM along with a carnival of fire jugglers, neon jugglers and fairground rides for eveyone to enjoy.
A spectacular event lighting up the sky over Leyburn Shawl. A great event to enjoy Guy Fawkes Night in safety with an organised display and bonfire. The event is held on Leyburn Shawl play area, which offers a large venue to enjoy Bonfire Night in safety. Enjoy an event with great community spirit in safety, with refreshments on hand to help keep your warm. One of the best family events of the winter months.
The Scarborough Lions' Bonfire Night will once again take place down at Weaponess Car Park, Scarborough, on Wednesday 5th November 2014. With all proceeds going to the Lions' chosen charities, join hundreds of locals for this annual celebration from 5:30pm. Traditional bonfire night food will be available including hot dogs and beef burgers.
The South Milford Annual Bonfire is the largest bonfire in the area, and raises much needed funds to aid the communities of South Milford and Monk Fryston. The event offers to be the best firework display around the east Leeds area.
Well, after much deliberation, the theme for the 2015 Skinningrove Bonfire is...Fishingrove! This will be a celebration of the fishing heritage of Skinningrove. Don't be too surprised to see a huge fishing boat on the beach!
The Beverley Lions Club are have organised their annual Fireworks Display on Guy Fawkes Night. This will take place on the Beverley Westwood. The Beverley Lions Club is looking forward to providing this free spectacular evening of traditional entertainment for everyone.
This is one of the most popular nights of the year as Hornsea Freeport welcomes hundreds of visitors to the site who all enjoy a chance to have a late browse round the shops, and enjoy a huge bonfire and firework display as well as a small selection of rides and stalls.
Join Langlands Shiptonthorpe for their increasingly popular bonfire and fireworks event. They'll be featuring a huge bonfire and a magnificent fireworks display. Langlands Food Court will also be on site with traditional bonfire fare, including the famous Langlands Yorkshire Parkin. The event is ticket entry only.

Welcome to Calderdale's largest public Bonfire and Firework Display. There'll be two huge firework displays, the MASSIVE Elland bonfire, a fire dance display team, food stalls, hot drinks, fairground rides, games stalls and music too. A brilliant event.
Wakefield's annual Bonfire and Firework Display in Thornes Park celebrates the traditions of the season with a stunning firework display, a welcoming bonfire, tasty food and live entertainment. Cannon Hall Farm are giving you two opportunities to enjoy a bonfire night experience at Cannon Hall Farm this year. Events are planned for the Sundays of the 1st and 8th November . They are all day events and tickets cover farm admission, indoor and outdoor play, tractor and trailer rides and free rides on our mini fairground. After Dark is Yorkshire's No 1 Fireworks Spectacular attracting up to 20,000 people each year. The event was established in 1996 and now offers Live Music on the Real Radio Stage, funfair, bonfire, food stalls, bar & a massive fireworks display set to music.
