1 Your Account

No tricks, just treats!

There is always lots going on in Yorkshire and on Halloween it is no different. Zombies, ghosts, witches and goblins will be out in force this Halloween at events across Yorkshire. From a spooky pumpkin trail to a twilight ghost cruise, and from firework spectaculars to fire jugglers, there's plenty to frighten the whole family. So grab your broomsticks, sharpen your vampire fangs and polish your cauldrons.

Events in North Yorkshire

With terrifying live action horror mazes and hair-raising frightmare zones, as well as gruesome Halloween shows and blood-curdling inhabitants, watch light turn to dark as the valley becomes shrouded in a menacing cloak of supernatural delight!

Castle Howard will host its first ever Halloween event when the magnificent grounds of the historic house are transformed into a spooky wonderland for a family friendly ‘Chills and Thrills' spectacular. Walk the flare lit path and catch glimpses of the house and statues rising out of the mist before encountering the headless horseman and his flame bearing guards amongst the trees. The fire damaged South East wing will be brought to life by our spine-chilling story tellers, whilst terror face painters and magic mirrors will transform you into a frightening sight this Halloween.

Join us this Halloween as we embark on our Spooky Adventure. Follow the woodland trail as you find answers to our Free Spook Quiz. Watch your step, you never know what's lurking in the forest! Join the Witch and her Naughty little helper in making a Secret Potion Masterclass. And stop off at the cafe for some Creepy Treats! It's that spooky time of year again, so dress up if you dare!

Enjoy a fantastic day on the adventure nature trail. Search for the items to complete the Studfold Halloween Spell. Come along to solve clues to find the larger than life acorns. Find out about the trees around you and WIN a Halloween surprise.

York-based The Activities Group (TAG) has developed a happy hallowe'en experience suitable for all the family. Quad Biking with special "Trick or Treat" Pumpkins; Zombie Busting on the Rifle Range; Ghost Busting on the Paintball range and staking vampires on the Archery range! A feast of Hallowe'en activities.

Come join Ripley Castle for some eerie goings on...! Includes castle tours with ghost stories, a spooky garden trail, Halloween crafts, a garden room Halloween party and treats for children in costume!

Events in East Yorkshire

This Halloween half-term is set to be the spookiest yet! With some great activities planned, the whole family is sure to get into the spirit of things as well as being able to pick up some great bargains from our high street stores, each offering up to 50% off RRP!

Enjoy The Deep's exciting Halloween party night. Suitable for over 18s only, this evening includes a three-course meal and cocktail on arrival as well as a disco and prizes for the best costume.

Follow spooky clues in the woodland walk and receive a spooky treat! Great family fun.

Join Burton Contable for a scary but fun evening of spooky tales about the many people who haunt this wonderful. This hugely popular event is never quite the same, will Dame Margaret walk the Long Gallery with you or will you feel the wagging tail of Bunter the family dog against your leg, or perhaps see the stable boy hiding in the shadows, who knows.

Join local guide Paul Schofield and discover Beverley's chilling tales and gruesome stories with plenty of historical detail thrown in. Not for the faint-hearted!


Events in West Yorkshire

Part of Stockeld Park's Halloween Adventure Season. The new Witches Hat is just one of the ‘venues' where you can join our host of storytellers in the Enchanted Forest for intriguing stories for all ages.

Yummy Yorkshire, the award-winning artisan ice cream producer based near Huddersfield, is holding a free Halloween party. Taking place inside the Yummy Yorkshire barn, there will also be a 'spooky' disco complete with disco lights. Freshly barbequed Hot Dogs, Burgers & steak sandwiches will be on sale as will some special Bonfire Ice Cream flavours - choose from Toffee Apple, Yorkshire Parkin and Gingerbread. There will also be a bar for parents serving Farmer'Blonde beer and wine.

Stockeld Park's premier scare attraction returns where the woodland is transformed into three truly terrifying zones...only the brave will make it through Fright Night! Fright Night is aimed at adults and older children (from at least 8 years upwards).

With Halloween just round the corner, we're getting youngsters ready for a scary night of trick or treating with spine-tingling craft workshops and a Dracula-themed show spectacular on Tuesday 29 October. Also during half term, on Friday 1 November, to celebrate the launch of her new magic, mayhem and mirth children's book, author Gianna Hartwright will be signing and selling copies in the centre for the reduced price of £7.00 (normal price £8.99). A KS2 education pack accompanies the book.

6pm Gates open to Spooky Shibden Park, followed by Spooktacular fireworks at 7.30 p.m. The walking Ghost Tour starts immediately after the fireworks. Entertainment, ghost train, rides and refreshments are available from 6pm onwards (not included in admission price). 

Eureka! is well and truly getting into the Halloween spirit this October half-term. Join the Scooby gang as they solve a series of mysteries. Free with standard admission or your Eureka! Annual Pass..

Spooky goings on at Standedge Tunnel! A range of Halloween themed activities happening at Standedge throughout the half term week. Look out for Fright Night on 31 October too. A spooky walk from Marsden Train Station to the visitor centre, followed by a spooky boat trip into the tunnel...there may be spooky goings on so beware!!!

The place will be buzzing and the atmosphere amazing. This is such a feel good family event with children, parents and grandparents all out together, MAGICAL!!! Watch out his year for Spookley the Square Pumpkin.

  • Victoria Hall Halloween Ball! 31 October

Calling all ghosts, ghouls and goblins, come and join us for a spooktacular evening at Victoria Hall, Saltaire this Halloween with live music, a buffet from Don't Tell Titus bar and restaurant, entertainment, fun and games... don't dare be late!

Fly down to the Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds this October half term if you dare, and prepare to be scared by a host of spooky horrors - from vampire-slaying tales to a thrilling stunt-riding horse show and what's set to be the biggest Halloween party in Yorkshire.

Join the Discover Huddersfield team at our pop up stall in the LBT courtyard from 12-3pm and get involved in our outdoor pumpkin carving that will coincide with the 2pm family-friendly Shuddersfield Ghost Trail. For the 7pm & 9pm tours, join Rebecca Legg who will be dressed in her cape and have her Lantern and yours too!; ready for that spooky stroll around the town.

Events in South Yorkshire

Come face to face with ghosts and ghouls and take a Haunted Hayride round the Freaky Forest. Play Trick or Treat on the Witch in the Wood and see magical bird of prey displays. Carve a pumpkin, join in creepy crafts and enjoy witches brews and spooky snacks. Daily kids' fancy dress competition - don't forget your Halloween costume!

Fright Night is Britain's biggest Halloween Carnival, attracting over 40,000 people into the City Centre each year and has become a Sheffield institution! Always staged on the Sunday before Halloween, Sheffield closes the roads in Sheffield City Centre for this ‘mass promenade' event.

Victorian characters welcome you to the hall for some Halloween hell-raising...hear about strange happenings from the house and take part in a Halloween trail in the gardens where there might even be some magic to discover...

Halloween is an exciting time of the year at Cannon Hall Farm. The annual pumpkin festival runs between the 26th October and 3rd November. During the week, thousands of pumpkins will be carved into some very scary lanterns. The kids can also enjoy Guy Fawkes mask making, sheep and ferret racing and bird of prey demonstrations.

Fancy dress a must with this event! There will be a hot & cold themed buffet with Disco and kids entertainment. There is also a prize for best Fancy Dress!
