Sweet treats!

Families like the Tuke, Rowntree & Terry families made Yorkshire one of the greatest exporters of chocolate and there’s a wealth of fine producers continuing their traditions today

Cocoa Wonderland: Cocoa is a chocolate sweetie shop & cafe nestled in the hills of Sheffield. Dreamt up by two best friends who refuse to grow up. It is an emporium of wonders & delights, with rows and rows of every kind of sweet imaginable in sparkling glass jars and overflowing with the tastiest chocolate in all the land.

Amelia’s Chocolate: Come to Amelia’s Chocolate on almost any afternoon and you’ll see Amelia hard at work making her handcrafted chocolates. They say they’re made with 100% love, and when you see the care they take you’ll know that it’s true.

White Rabbit Chocolatiers: Named after the 14th century stone carving in St. Mary’s Church, Beverley, White Rabbit Chocolatiers have been making and selling delicious artisan chocolates for over a decade. Their handcrafted chocolates have so far earned them 15 Great Taste Awards, including a Top 50 Foods, and an Academy of Chocolate Award.

And Chocolate Ltd:  Sharing their home with that of the Brontë’s, the wonderful Pennine moorland, the preserved steam KWVR railway and so much more on the doorstep, they have the privilege of having a shop on the fabulous Main Street of Haworth

Crofts Chocolates: Here, they pride ourselves in using only the finest Belgian chocolate because of its superior quality which doesn’t replace cocoa butter with cheaper vegetable fats. Everything they make, is carefully crafted by hand in the open planned kitchen so you can see the magic happen.

Birdgate Chocolatiers: Birdgate Chocolatiers based in Pickering offer a selection of quality, delicious and luxurious chocolates.

Joseph Dobsons & Sons: The home of the famous Yorkshire Mixture, Joseph Dobson’s is a fascinating story of a family owned business which, from humble Victorian origins, has prospered to become one of the largest privately owned confectionery manufacturers in Yorkshire.

John Bull Candy Kingdom: Bring your children’s group to John Bull’s Candy Kingdom. This fully air conditioned indoor adventure play centre has a three storey play frame, four lane astra slide, maze and sports arena. Suitable for ages 12 and under with a special toddlers area for the under 3s. Party rooms, hot and cold snacks, meals and drinks.

The Oldest Sweet Shop in England: No visit to the Yorkshire Dales would be complete without a visit to the Oldest Sweet Shop in England at Pateley Bridge for a truly magical and memorable experience. Officially the Oldest Sweet Shop in the world as validated by Guinness World Records in its publication in 2014.

The Little Chocolate Shop: The Little Chocolate Shop first made chocolates in the mill buildings at Aysgarth Fall. Due to its enormous popularity we have moved to The Leyburn Business Park and now provide a dedicated factory for the production of delicious hand-made chocolates.
