Trekking Centres and Riding Holidays

With a wide range of trekking centres across Yorkshire, it’s easy to find your feet, and a good horse.

Most riding centres cater for beginners through to experienced riders while some also have facilities for disabled riders, side-saddle and carriage driving. Many run excursions which make the best use of our national parks, coastline paths, riverside trails and unspoilt villages, helping you see the very best of our county.

You can organise a trip yourself or go through a trekking centre. This has the advantage that someone will have ridden all the bridleways before and know which are the best ones to use. They also consider safe crossings of roads, railways and rivers as you work your way across the countryside. They then link this all together with farmhouse B&B’s with facilities for horses to make a memorable and stress free journey.

It’s always wise to contact the centre first to find out what facilities they have to offer, where the centre is based, what level of rider they cater for and the type of riding offered before you book. Book a days riding and you could be heading across the open moors, along the rugged coastline, through the picturesque dales and villages or having a lesson in a covered arena. The choice is yours!
