• The Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough is home to Alan Ayckbourn, the world's most performed living playwright and boasts two auditoria: The Round and The McCarthy, which also doubles as a cinema.

• Hull Truck Theatre is one of Yorkshire’s six producing theatres and home to the playwright John Godber enjoying his 21st year as Artistic Director.
