Royal Armouries Historical military re-enactments bring Yorkshire's past to life, whether it is a display of knights battling it out on horseback, a Viking parade or a lesson in medieval cookery.

Yorkshire's military heritage sites lead the rest of the country in staging live events at historic abbeys, castles, houses and gardens. You'll see the latest and best re-enactments in Yorkshire.

The aim of these live events at heritage sites is to give everyone a really fun day out, whilst learning a little more about how our ancestors lived.

Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds hosts spectacular live demonstrations, lavish re-enactments and jousting tournaments.
Eden Camp transports visitors back in time in North Yorkshire. Housed in an original Prisoner of War Camp.
Yorkshire Air Museum, near York will shortly become the proud caretaker of the remarkable Nimrod military reconnaissance aircraft, which remains in service in revised form for the foreseeable future. The only museum in the world to have a live example on display. Nimrod MR2, XV250 made its last flight from RAF Kinloss into semi retirement at Elvington on Tuesday 13^th April. XV250 will take part in the Museum’s regular “Thunder Days”. Joint winner of the 2010 York Tourism Awards for Best Marketing Campaign.
