Deliciouslyorkshire If you haven't heard of Yorkshire food, prepare to be inspired by the range of local specialities just waiting to be sampled in the restaurants and pubs of Yorkshire.

Take a few ingredients home after a visit to one of the many farm shops and delicatessens. Or why not delve deeper into the mysteries of rhubarb, cider, wine and beer at one of the visitor attractions dedicated to producing something deliciously Yorkshire?

  • Perns of Helmsley - In early 2005 Jacquie and Andrew Pern of the much-celebrated, multi-award winning Star Inn, Harome (situated 2 ½ miles from the butchers), purchased this shop selling meat, delicatessen products, wines and spirits.
  • The Star Inn Corner Shop at the Star Inn, Harome, near Helmsley - The Perns' enthusiasm for fine food, particularly which is sourced from local and specialist suppliers, is what has inspired them to open this gourmet village shop. The produce sold in The Corner Shop is local; the homemade items are all created by Andrew's team in The Star kitchen - the main emphasis being using the freshest top quality ingredients.
  • Lishmans of Ilkley, Award winning butcher - Home of only the highest quality local meat products and sourced, wherever possible, from local farms in the Yorkshire Dales using traditional British breeds like Aberdeen Angus.
  • Castle Howard Stable Courtyard, near York - With a choice of local produce in the award-winning Farm Shop, handmade confectionery in the Chocolate Shop and estate grown plants, trees and shrubs in the Plant Centre. The Carriage House sells home lifestyle goods and accessories, and the Bookshop has something to interest bookworms of all ages. Shoppers can enjoy seasonal menus in the Courtyard Café.
  • Food Hall, Harvey Nichols, Leeds - The most fashionable food destination for die hard foodies and fashionistas alike. Showcasing the finest produce from artisan producers around the world, Harvey Nichols continues its commitment to the quality, provenance and pleasure of truly excellent eating.
