Michelin stars light up red carpet event
Story Published: 10 September 2010
Yorkshire's Michelin starred chefs have been holding tasting sessions to decide which special dinner will be served at the UK's biggest tourism awards ceremony. The final menu is being designed by the chefs, and will be re-created for one night only for finalists and guests at this year's White Rose Awards, organised by tourism agency Welcome to Yorkshire.
"The deadline for booking a place to the awards is Wednesday 15th September so there's been a last minute rush for tickets which could see the Michelin chefs' menu being served to in excess of 1,000 guests and finalists," explains Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire.
The awards have been running for over 20 years but each year is a fresh experience and this year's event, hosted at The Yorkshire Event Centre at the Great Yorkshire Showground, will be no exception.
"The awards have come to be recognised as a time to reward those who make our county great but it's also an evening for the industry to come together, and really celebrate all that is amazing about Yorkshire and its people.
"it's a fantastic opportunity to renew acquaintances and meet new people from within an industry which is incredibly hard working. In terms of an inspiring experience this really is an event people do not want to miss."
Anyone still wishing to see the 90 finalists battling it out for 15 White Rose Awards will need to book their places by 5pm on Wednesday 15th September either online at www.whiteroseawards.com or Email: info@whiteroseawards.com Tel: 0113 3223564.
