The railway is also the perfect starting point for a day out, whether you're travelling between Pickering and other charming Yorkshire villages, walking on the moors or spending a day by the seaside in Whitby. Pickering Station is also home to a lovely traditional tea room, serving freshly baked scones, pies and pasties throughout the day.

Close to Pickering

Close to the village is the well known theme park Flamingo Land - a great day out for families, attracting around 1.8m visitors per year. The park and zoo boasts many white knuckle thrillers including a suspended looping rollercoaster, smaller rides for young children and an extensive zoo - home to many rare and exotic animals including giraffes, rhinos, hippos and lions.
