Yorkshire's Favourite Pub 2013
After a county-wide campaign which saw over 500 pubs nominated, we have finally got our top three pubs in the Yorkshire's Favourite Pub 2013 competition.
So, the top three are:
This traditional village inn is located in the heart of Felixkirk village, on the outskirts of the market town of Thirsk, North Yorkshire. The Carpenters Arms specialises in bringing its guests high quality food, drink, service and surroundings, including a superb private dining room for larger parties.
The main restaurant is located overlooking the Vale of Mowbray, providing a spectacular backdrop for a relaxed and delicious meal. The Inn also has a wonderful traditional bar, stocked with local beers, hand pulled ales and a considered wine list. Enjoy a decent pint or glass of wine in the cosy bar and tap room area.
More informal dining is also accommodated in the bar area, with its large wooden tables and roaring open fires, whilst the gardens are a great spot for al fresco dining in the warmer months.
This pub is ideally located on the main street of the market town of Skipton, the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Here you can relax and enjoy award winning Timothy Taylor cask ales, world beers or the pub's impressive wine list. Renowned for serving outstanding pub food, the menu and daily specials board encompass a selection of traditional and modern British fayre, prepared using the finest quality local ingredients.
With a warm and friendly atmosphere through the week and a lively weekend atmosphere, the pub is popular with locals and visitors alike; and if you need accommodation there are nine AA 4 star rated, modern, en-suite bedrooms available. Another wow factor is the pub's award winning, stylishly furnished, heated outdoor area, where you can relax in comfort all year round.
This pub is situated just away from the busy town of Leyburn in Wensleydale and offers the perfect base to explore the Yorkshire Dales while still being able to relax in a tranquil friendly environment. The Foresters is a much loved country inn serving great hand pull ales, fine wines and locally sourced homemade food to both locals and visitors alike.
The Foresters Arms is a community owned pub. Rescued from closure by the local community, the pub is now owned and operated by the locals - Welcome to the Dales!
Congratulations to these three pubs and also to all the pubs that were nominated.
