Independently run by the Marsden family since opening in 1999, the Lodge has built up a reputation for friendliness and excellent accommodation at sensible prices. Our customer-focused approach was recently recognised by VisitBritain who have given us a Silver Award for our hospitality, service and bedroom quality, and all our rooms are ensuite with modern facilities. Studio rooms with kitchenettes are also available for medium and long stay visitors.A great favorite with guests is our traditional English Breakfast, of course with Yorkshire tea, and wherever possible we buy our produce locally and organic - highlighted by our Deliciously Yorkshire Breakfast Award, presented by the Yorkshire Tourist Board. And, for an evening meal without leaving the Lodge try our 'Woks Cooking' experience. A wide range of restaurants and take-away's in the area deliver to the Lodge, or in some cases we can collect for you. We provide you with hot plates and cutlery and you can enjoy your meal in the lounge, in your room or in the conservatory which also offers a bar service in the evening. Within 500m are Huddersfield Sports Centre, Huddersfield University, Kingsgate Shopping Centre, The Lawrence Batley Theatre and the stunning Railway Station, not forgetting an enormous range of contemporary bars, clubs and restaurants. Slightly further afield you'll find Holmfirth, home to "Last of the Summer Wine", the village of Marsden, home to TVs "Where the Heart is" and a wide range of museums including The National Coal Mining Museum for England, The National Media Museum, The Royal Armouries and Eureka! the Museum for Children.
