Built in 1796, Larpool Hall is a fine Country House set within 14 acres of tranquil gardens, with splendid views over the Esk Valley and to the sea at Whitby. It makes an ideal base for a walking or activity holiday on the doorstep of the North York Moors National Park.

There are 28 en-suite bedrooms, all equipped with hairdryer, clock radio and tea and coffee making facilities. Meals are served in an informal, friendly atmosphere at tables for up to eight guests. Indoor facilities include a spa pool, two lounges and a bar, serving local beers. Free internet access is offered on a dedicated PC and Wifi is available in some public rooms. The house has a 4-star Visit England rating, and free car parking is available.

The bustling harbour town of Whitby with its ruined abbey is about 1½ miles away, and is said to serve the best fish and chips in England. The charming villages of Robin Hood’s Bay and Staithes are within easy reach, and other nearby attractions include York, about an hour’s drive away.
