Overview & description
The Works Skatepark is an ideal destination for children young people (and adults), to enjoy riding and skating the various ramps, pipes, rails and jump boxes! All levels of ability are welcomed and specific coaching available to beginners in all areas on various days of the week. Tuesday – skate, Wednesday scooter and Thursday is BMX – run by experienced coaches and free (£6 entry) from 4-6pm.
Five sections to ride/ skate/ explore!
The main street section of the park is the biggest area of the works. It features varying sizes of quarters, driveways, hips, rails and ledges. All for use by all abilities.
The easy street section of the park is aimed towards beginners to intermediate riders. It has many ramps and rails which are more mellow and accessible for newbies.
Designed with the origins of skateboarding in mind, the pool was built for old school sessions with tight transitionary and real pool coping it’s a serious authentic ride!
Jump Box Room
Our new jump box room is a mighty set of ramps designed for maximum air and altitude! Built by Leeds finest BMX riders, so you know it’s been done right.
Upstairs you will find a chill out area with 52” TV with Freeview and our internet channel, pool table, sofas, and a café serving hot and cold food and beverages.
The Works Skatepark runs various events throughout the year see our website and Facebook page) for more details. Events include The Works birthday party, Halloween, Christmas Jam, Summer sessions etc.
The Works Skatepark also runs sessions on a Wednesday (& sometimes in holidays, again see website) for under 8’s. These sessions are closed to everyone else and we have had ‘riders as young as 20 months!
Everyone using the park must sign up and be a member. Membership is £15 and can be paid over 3 sessions at £5 each time.
