Once the town’s busy railway terminus, this magnificently restored Victorian building is now home to a stylish café bar and restaurant; a modern, two-screen cinema; a spacious art gallery over two floors; and an interactive heritage centre.The Station also houses a selection of food artisans, making and selling their produce on site. Visitors can taste freshly baked bread, handmade cheese, traditional ales from the micro-brewery, delicious food and confectionery and home-made jersey ice-cream.The Station also has a range of meetings rooms and a 100-seat auditorium to hire. There are many community and public events held throughout the year, ranging from celebrity book signings to speciality food and gift fairs. The art gallery hosts regular exhibitions of art and crafts, displaying some of the finest work in the region.This innovative and award-winning £2.7million community restoration project attracts more than 300 thousand visitors a year. The Station is run as a not-for-profit charity and relies on the dedicated work of local volunteers.
