After a 12 month renovation and building project the Farm Shop, in it’s 12th year, is now partnered with a Coffee Shop and Restaurant and a new state-of-the-art foodproduction unit. This is where they make the mouth-watering array of fresh food including bread, cakes, quiches, sausages, burgers, gammon, soup, dry cured bacon, and the list goes on....Wakefield Civic society have awarded Blacker Hall Farm Shop ‘Best Renovation 2011’ for their sympathetic and stylish restoration of the 400 year old barn, now the Restaurant.LocalYou may assume that this Farm Shop is simply another average independant food retailer sticking their label on mass produced foods with no real authenticity....how wrong you areEverything with the Blacker Hall insignia is produced or prepared on site, or sourced from the family farm or other local farms rearing animals to the same high standards. It’s not only the meat that is reared locally, flour in the cakes is milled in Yorkshire and the free range eggs are from Selby. That means that 90% of sales are generated from truly local foods.We have in excess of forty individual awards and championship titles for our produce including our21 day Matured Sirloin Steaks, Pork, Sausages, Dry Cured and Smoked Bacon, Gammon, Meatballs, fruit crumbles, biscuits, soups, ready meals and much more…Our farming headquarters is located 1 mile away, at Broad Cut Farm, next to Jct.39 of the M1. Our pigs are reared here on a nutritionally balanced diet ensuring that the meat is tender, sweet and with buttery fat. The fields surrounding the Farm Shop are grazed by our cattle and sheep throughout the year.The other fields yield the crops, which are fed to our livestock during the winter months, forming a part of their nutritionally balanced diet.
