1 Your Account

North Yorkshire

Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, Malton. Across every day of the Easter School Holidays, guests can join in the Easter Zoo Trail where you can complete an egg-themed trail sheet by walking around the award-winning animal collection and matching up clues. Spring Steam Gala at North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Two great weekends for steam enthusiasts with a number of steam locomotives on the line.

Castle Howard Easter - Cheer on Woolly Jumper, Sheargar and Red Ram at the Lamb National this Easter. The racing sheep will battle it out along a course of brightly coloured jumps in an entertaining and thrilling display. Watch out, The Tudors and Henry VIII are back in York as The York Dungeon launches its NEW Show ‘Tyrannical Tudors' which will open to the public on Friday 4th April. Head to Rural Arts, Thirsk and check out the North Yorkshire Art Project inspired by the work of Yinka Shonibare MBE. Shonibare was born in London and moved to Lagos, Nigeria at the age of three. He returned to London to study Fine Art and currently lives and works in the East End of London. Shonibare has become well known for his exploration of colonialism and post-colonialism within the contemporary context of globalisation through colourful, vibrant and witty installations, sculpture and images. Pupils in North Yorkshire Schools have been creating art inspired by Yinka Shonibare. The project began with a training session and a visit for school staff to Shonibare's exhibition at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in July 2013 and concludes with this art exhibition.

West Yorkshire

Head to the UK's national children's museum Eureka! in Halifax for Nature's Stage! Step into nature, conservation and the wonderful world of animals with plenty of hands-on opportunities to understand the environment. Fabulous fun.

Yorkshire Sculpture Park, West Bretton - take the self-guided trail around the YSP lakes and woodlands to become a young explorer, discovering the historical stories and wildlife that surround them. Search for the ‘golden geese' and new-born lambs along the way before reporting your findings at YSP Centre. No need to book, just drop in and pick up a leaflet from YSP Centre to take part and for your chance to win a free family lunch in YSP Restaurant. Yum!

Pole Position Indoor Karting, Leeds - this flagship venue in the heart of Leeds centre has cost over £½M to develop and has taken indoor karting circuit design to another level. Little ones can let off steam in the outdoor play-area and you can take a break and make use of the indoor picnic area or take advantage of the delicious children's menu in the Café Bar.

All aboard the Easter express! Pay a visit to Keighley & Worth Valley Railway this Easter for an eggcellent day out for all the family.  How many Easter Eggs and special treats can you spot as your train chugs up and down the tracks? Grown-ups can sit back and enjoy the views as children are kept entertained with our Easter activity sheets and egg hunt. The ‘Railway Rabbit' will be hopping on and off the train, delivering Easter eggs and causing mischief!

South Yorkshire

Easter Bunny Picnic Party at Rotherham's Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre. Head to the spectacular Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre this Easter for their Easter Bunny Picnic Party. Meet Betsy Bunny , play pass the parcel and other fun games, take part in the fancy dress competition, see the Easter Bonnet parade and enjoy some party food and, most importantly, chocolate!

Spring into Easter at All Saints' Square and the Minster Gardens, Rotherham Town Centre on Saturday 19th April. There will be a wonderful petting farm including lambs, rabbits, piglets and more cute animals! Easter crafts to make and take home, face painting, Easter Mega Jungle activity trailer, loads of fun activities including egg and spoon races, hula hooping and sack races. Plus, from 2pm to 3.30pm there will be an Easter treasure hunt with lots of Town Centre businesses taking part.

The Grand Depart passes through Langsett on the 6th of July and to celebrate this Langsett are holding a Cycling Festival over the Easter Weekend. As part of this Polaris Bikewear will be running a Family Easter Egg Hunt on the Saturday and Sunday around the Langsett Reservoir. There will be clues for children to follow placed around the woods and for all children that complete the course there will be cycling related gifts from world leading cycling Brand Polaris Bikewear.

Easter Egg Specials at Elsecar Heritage Railway, Barnsley. Meet the Easter Bunny and receive a Cadbury's or Kinder Chocolate Egg. Then enjoy a picnic onboard the train. After this why not try the Bouncy Castle, take part in the Easter Egg Hunt or visit the Marquee Mini Zoo where you can handle a variety of animals including snakes, chickens, rabbits and reptiles.

Click your heels, clap your hands and journey Over the Rainbow at Cast in Doncaster. Dorothy and her cute dog Toto enter the wonderful Land of Oz. During their travels down the yellow brick road they meet some lovely friends including a Scarecrow, a Tin Man and even a Lion who really wants some courage. The four new friends travel to see the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, this won't be easy as the Wicked Witch of the West is determined to stop them by any means necessary!

Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley - This year the activities will run between the Saturday 12th and Sunday 27th April. They are expecting lots of baby animals with 200 sheep due to lamb as well as kid goats and piglets. There will be sheep racing with Shep the Dog and Shaun the Sheep, ferret racing and our friends from SMJ Falconry will be there too with their Birds of Prey. Also, there's an Easter Trail for the children, with the prize of a chocolate treat and Easter craft activities are also included in the entrance price along with milking demonstrations, animal feeding and small animal petting.

Easter Extravaganza with the National Trust - For the seventh year running, the National Trust is teaming up with Cadbury to offer families a magical Easter weekend together with fun Easter Egg Trails at places throughout the Yorkshire. Whether you're a child or simply young at heart you can follow cryptic clues, complete fun-filled challenges and explore some of Yorkshire's most spectacular places to hunt down a delicious Cadbury prize.

East Yorkshire

Easter fun at The Deep - Head to the Deep and see their new VIP residents..... that's Very Important Penguins! They are taking up residence in The Kingdom of Ice, and will help explain to visitors about the threats to their habitat, issues surrounding climate change and ocean acidification as well as animal biology and food chains. This £750,000 exhibit will give you fantastic views of the penguins, both underwater and on land and is the only location in the North of England where you will be able to see these beautiful creatures. 

Easter Festival at Sledmere House. A demonstration of traditional crafts by local craftsmen and a chance to try your hand and maybe spark a new interest. Also, don't miss Easter Lambing and children's activities, (Sunday 20th and Monday 21st only.) An opportunity to visit the lambing shed and see some of their newly born lambs with their mothers and join in with feeding and other chores. Also competitions and have a go on the bouncy castle. Finally, don't forget to check out the thousands of daffodils and tulips to see for the garden lovers out there!

Bridlington Birds of Prey & Animal Park is a family run award winning business located near Bridlington, East Yorkshire. At the park they offer a fun filled day out you will always remember. In their wonderful woodland setting they offer the chance for adults and children of all ages, to experience being close to nature and have lots of fun with the wonderful birds of prey and all their furry friends. Also, look out for their Easter egg hunt on 19th and 20th April.

Easter Egg Hunt at Burton Agnes Hall. Pop along to Burton Agnes Hall over the Easter weekend and enjoy searching the grounds and woodland walk for chocolate Easter eggs. Fun for all the family!

Easter Waymarker Trail at Burton Constable Hall. Whilst we can't guarantee sunshine, a combination of fresh air, excitement and the incentive of chocolate is a great way to motivate the kids to get out and explore the grounds and parkland at Burton Constable Hall with the Easter Waymarker Trail! Each waymarker highlights a different parkland feature (Ha-Ha, Dog Kennels, Orangery etc.) and feature a rubbing dish. Take a rubbing and everyone who completes the trail gets a chocolately reward.

Bunny Comes To Burnby, Burnby Hall Gardens and Museum. Good Friday 18th & Sunday 20th. Come Meet Easter Burnby Bunny in the Gardens. There's a Spring Has Sprung Wildlife Quiz and an Easter Egg Hunt. Also, come meet baby chicks, giant bunnies and other animals courtesy of Purple Pig Company. Don't miss the Famous Bunny Bonanza Trail and pick up a treat from the Easter Crafts in the Marquee.
