Temporary Campsites for the Grand Départ

There are various options for those looking for temporary "pop-up" campsites when the Grand Départ of the Tour de France comes to Yorkshire in July 2014. These include:

Sutton Howgrave Family Camping
This picturesque pop-up campsite is located in the small village of Sutton Howgrave, Bedale nestled in the heart of Yorkshire: only 3 miles from Le Tour Route. They are offering camping in the lovely 7-acre Little Rushwood, in Sutton Howgrave, raising vital funds for St Michael's Church in Kirklington, for three nights only - Thursday 3rd / Friday 4th / Saturday 5th July.

Colne Valley Campsite
Colne Valley Campsite is perfectly located to arrive by car, train, bus or bike. Tour de France fans will be able to enjoy the Le Tour Yorkshire - Grand depart 2014 on both Saturday 5th July in Leeds and then on Sunday 6th July for stage 2 of the event where the race will pass through Huddersfield, Holmfirth and Holme Moss.

Ilkley Cycle Club

Rapha Tempest is a complete festival of road cycling, the first of its kind in the UK, with rides and racing, bespoke on-site camping, visual displays, music, food and drink, workshops, films, children's rides and plenty of partying.

Sue Ryder Campsite
Our stunning grounds will provide a great campsite for the spectators wishing to camp and view the tour de France. All camping fees will also go to support the work of the hospice

Handcrafted yurts all have steam bent ash beams and a unique round top solid oak door. The chic interiors are both rustic and cosy. Furnished with a double bed and both a double and single futon means the yurts are ideal for everyone.

Skipton RUFC Campsite
Staying with us in the ‘Gateway to the Dales' means you will be at the heart of the Stages 1 and 2 of the Tour, with the Route passing within 750 metres of the Rugby club on Day 1.

Camp Vélo Knaresborough
This small, exclusive pop up campsite has less than 50 places available for tents or small campervans, so book early. The site is on a level field surrounded by beautiful trees set 100m back off the A59 (the Stage 2 route), 3 miles off the Stage 1 finish line in Harrogate and 200m off a public big screen to watch the whole race.

Keighley RFC Campsite
Located in the Aire Valley, at the gate way to the Yorkshire Dales. Our club will have availability for camping in tents, caravans & camper vans during The Grand Depart

Harden Campsite
Located on the edge of the village, Harden CC are pleased to offer a camp site with access to all facilities. Conveniently located just ten minutes drive from the route, we can provide secure parking for bikes within the clubhouse. Our facilities including bar will be available for breakfast and will re open from early evening with food and entertainment.

Harrogate RUFC Camping
HRUFC is situated close to the centre of Harrogate 20 minutes' walk from the designated finishing line for stage one on West Park in the centre of Harrogate.

River Wharfe Campsite
In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, between two of the best-kept villages, with the River Wharfe surrounding the field and beautiful views for miles, there's really no better setting.

Kidstones Camping
You will find a warm welcome at Kidstones. This family-run working farm in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park has created Kidstones Camping to provide an idyllic location especially for the Tour de France.

Keighley Cougars Campsite

Wensleydale RUFC Campsite
Wensleydale RUFC is perfectly positioned on the outskirts of the picturesque and vibrant Dales town of Leyburn, for Stage One of the route. The club is making available their pitches and clubhouse facilities for Camping and Caravanning for the Grand Depart Le Tour Yorkshire

New House Farm Campsite
Ideally located in Hade Edge, Holmfirth, our working Pig Farm offers a great base location to see the Tour de France 2014 as it passes through Holmfirth and into South Yorkshire. All campers will be invited to our own very special Greedy Little Pig Hog Roast on the Saturday night, where you can meet fellow cycling enthusiasts over a complimentary Hog Roast Sandwich.

West Witton Playing Fields Campsite
The Playing Field and Pavilion at West Witton is available for camping (tents, caravans and campervans are welcome) during the Tour de France and for pre-booked groups at any other time of the year.

Campingninja on Le Route Yorkshire
Based in a central location within minutes walk from Ripon Town Centre and the race on the edge of the Dales, Ripon RUFC is the perfect setting for another fantastic Campingninja campsite at an unmissable sporting event - much like their London 2012 sites!

Elland Cricket Club Camping
Elland Cricket Club is going to be one of the best places where you will be able to take advantage of some of the superb facilities available to stay the night (or nights) by camping on our extensive grounds, pitching your tent or caravan for the short stay.

Penistone Camping
The campsite on the Penistone Show Ground is in the heart of Penistone so you will have access to the local amenities of our lively market town. There are shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants, cafe's, a train station, cinema, bus station all within a few minutes of the site.

Yummy Yorkshire Camping
Yummy Yorkshire will be opening up their land as a temporary campsite to help cater for the thousands of visitors who will descend on the area when the world-famous cycle race arrives. In celebration they will also be hosting a celebration evening on Saturday July 5 with live entertainment, a DJ, a bar serving local cider, wine and beer and a hog roast and desserts with a French twist.

Newby Hall, nr. Ripon
The estate is located less than 2 miles from the A1M (junction 48 from the South and 49 from the North) with the campsite situated in the heart of the grounds. The temporary campsite is less than 2.5 miles from the Ripon Bypass and less than 4 miles from the vibrant Ripon city centre with its exciting evening and daytime events during the Tour. Camping and caravanning pitches are available from June 29th through until Tuesday 8th July.

White Smithy Farm Campsite is situated on the perimeter of Hazlewood Castle Hotel at Hazlewood just off the main A64/ A1m access route which is approximately 11 miles from Leeds and York and 16 miles from Harrogate.
