We have two different huts available at No.2 – the Shepherd’s Hut and Train Wagon. They are both situated in their own private gardens, and have wood fired hot tubs, BBQs and fire pits. There are smart TVs and WiFi in both, as well as a shower room, toilet and kitchen to prepare light meals. The huts each sleep 2 adults (sorry no under 18’s) and we welcome dogs.
The Shepherd’s Hut is tastefully decorated in a deep green and gold, with hand oiled, solid walnut work surfaces and gold plated taps in the shower room. Set in a garden of trees, bamboo and ferns, there is plenty of space to enjoy yourselves. Directly outside the hut are a table and chairs, perfect for your morning coffee or maybe a spot of afternoon tea. The hot tub is nestled back on its own veranda, giving you complete privacy whilst you relax and unwind, with night time lighting and a water feature that tinkles away in the background. The fire pit and BBQ is set on a separate grassed area- so why not spend your evening cooking over an open fire and toasting marshmallows before you collapse into the king sized bed? Watch out for the friendly robin- he likes to visit the bird bath and appreciates a few crumbs.
The Train Wagon sits alongside a quiet railway line (two trains an hour) that runs past No.2, and was previously a working wagon before we converted it earlier this year (2021). It boasts a stunning interior- grey with pink accents and stainless steel accessories, tying in with the beautiful Cherry blossom in the serenity garden. At the side of the wagon, you’ll find the hot tub (again, situated on its own decking area.), and there is also another enclosed seating area where you can soak up the sun. Unique to the Train Wagon, is a breakfast bar set into the fence, overlooking the neighbouring farm where cows and sheep go about their day. If you’re lucky, you might also spot the barn owl hunting at dusk. In keeping with the Train Wagon, an old railway sleeper forms the bench by the fire pit in the grassed area, alongside a small herb bed also lined with
sleepers. Given that we’re only 20 minutes away from Scarborough Railway Station, where steam trains frequent, it’s the perfect spot for train enthusiasts and peace seekers alike.
