Situated in an enviable position right in the centre of the City of York, the Judge’s Lodging is a Grade I listed Georgian townhouse full of history and character. Our 21 characterful rooms are each individually designed and rich in detail and style. Comfortable and bespoke all are cosy and classy with some even having views of York Minster. Each one is unique and fully-equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay in York.

Breakfast is included in the nightly rate. Check-in is from 2 pm and check out by 11 am. The food here is AA Rosette award-winning food; excellent and tasty. Our listed Georgian restaurant is perfect for wining and dining. With an updated classic look, it’s a sophisticated place to eat. Perfectly executed, with menus inspired by the tremendous local Yorkshire produce around us. Everything is cooked from scratch and sourced from trusted suppliers in the surrounding area. Try our new seasonal menu for something extra special.

Our atmospheric Cellar Bar is a jewel in our crown with original vaulted ceilings and lots of cosy dining and drinking areas. Escape and hunker down for brunch, lunch or a relaxing drink. Gather with family and friends in our stunning glass box and dine like you’re outside. Or enjoy the sun and sit out on the terrace, we have two of the largest sun terraces inside the city walls. Dogs are allowed in the bar.

There is no on-site parking – you can drive up to Judges Lodging, drop your bags off, and we’ll direct you to the Marygate car park on Frederick Street (YO30 7DT) this is a take ticket and pay on exit car park – or you can head straight there and walk back through the Museum Gardens.
