About starlight bakery
I have been in love with baking since remembering began for me, my Mum encouraged me to bake with her from a very young age and I’ve never grown bored of it. What started as a pleasant hobby, to baking for friends then all of a sudden realizing I was ‘pretty good at this’ has grown in to a popular bespoke bakery.
Based from a bakery at home, half way between Harrogate and Ripon, North Yorkshire, The Starlight Bakery was born!
Cake has to taste delicious and look mouth watering, it should never contain anything but the purest ingredients. Where possible I use locally sourced produce such as Ian Taylor’s Eggs (Burton Leonard), fruit and nuts from Regal (Harrogate) and Yorkshire Rapeseed oil.
I love to produce the naughty cake, made with the best butter and golden caster sugar, but my true favourite are the ‘healthy cakes’, which taste glorious but only contain pure, natural ingredients which energise and make you feel fabulous. Who says you can’t eat cake and watch your waistline at the same time!.
I do celebration cakes to order from simple birthday cakes to extravagant wedding cakes, 3d modelling from flower paste is a skill I have learnt over the past 5 years, using Massa Tucini fondant to cover the cakes. Lace work, delicate flowers, the choice is endless.
