Born out of a frustration at the lack of decent artery-friendly eateries on the High Street, the creative visionary behind ÜGOT decided to get to work. Joe Carnell made it his mission to create
hangouts that serve an irresistible combination of fresh, flavour first food that is also full of natural goodness.
With a menu full of choices for intolerances, and absolutely no nasty preservatives or additives, a trip to ÜGOT is an antidote to the everyday strain we put our bodies under.
But Joe’s passion goes way beyond great tasting food. He cares deeply about the way their food makes people feel and the unique experience of eating at a ÜGOT destination.
A collaboration with man-of-the-moment Jamal Edwards (founder of the UK’s leading youth media brand, SBTV) has helped create the most stylish of urban sanctuaries that immerse you in a world of music and fashion that attracts customers that share their passion. There is a real sense of community surrounding everything ÜGOT do. They believe food has the power to connect people and it’s an approach that seems to be working.
This community ethos extends to ÜGOT’s suppliers too. Sourcing all ingredients from the best local suppliers, people who they know and trust. People who, like us, take an enormously amount of pride and pleasure out of doing something well.
ÜGOT also treasures their biggest supplier, the planet. All packaging is recyclable and kitchens’ waste is composted for the good of the next generation of growers. ÜGOT even plays our part in protecting the forests in Mozambique, with a proportion of profits going to good causes.
Joe see’s this as just the beginning. As they grow he aims to help more and more people bond over healthy food and great music, whilst always being true to their core values.
The first ÜGOT store launched October 2013 in York Railway Station. 3 Further stores are planned to open in neighboring major cities early 2014, including Newcastle Station opening 1st June.
