The Wensleydale Creamery has a fascinating story to tell; provenance and heritage are integral to our famous brand and award-winning range of handcrafted cheese.  By creating a truly enjoyable and memorable experience, we have successfully gone above and beyond to draw visitors, becoming one of the most recognisable and beloved tourist destinations in the North of England, attracting 350,000 visitors a year.

As the UKs flagship cheese & food experience, we have continually invested to develop our Visitor Centre since it opened 25 years ago; comprising the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience with new Demonstration Room and Cheese-making Viewing Gallery, our much-loved Cheese Shop with complimentary tasting of 20+ varieties, Calvert’s Restaurant, 1897 Coffee Shop and an extensive Gift Shop.

Watch our master cheesemakers in action, handcrafting our signature creamy, crumbly Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese from the Viewing Gallery. Journey through the art of cheese-making and its history in the Dales through the experience, and have your photo taken with the much-loved Wallace & Gromit Characters! Enjoy a self-guided tour.
