About Low Mill Guest House
Description
Low Mill is a stone-built, Grade II listed, late 18th Century corn mill situated in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales village of Bainbridge, close to the ancient market town of Hawes.
Bainbridge is in the heart of Wensleydale, so Low Mill makes an ideal base to explore this stunning area and its many attractions. Backing onto the River Bain, England’s shortest river, Low Mill is an amazing place.
Most of the original millworks situated throughout the house remain in working order, including the waterwheel. It has recently undergone a full, sympathetic restoration to become a Guesthouse, providing luxury bed and breakfast accommodation. We have a lovely riverside garden to relax in and private parking is available.

Low Mill Guest House is a real gem. Neil and Jane are warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, making us feel welcome from the start. The mill itself is beautifully renovated and full of character. Our room was tastefully furnished and very comfortable, with the soothing sound of the river just outside as an additional calming touch. The breakfasts were also excellent, and the location is perfect for walking, with great routes starting right from the door. A special place to stay - we’d definitely recommend and hope to be back.
An excellent guest house with only three rooms, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The rooms are well equipped, very individual, and very quirky due to being in a beautifully restored water mill. Great breakfasts, and some good pubs and restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Bainbridge itself is a quiet village with an unappealing pub, but is ideally situated without being overrun with tourists.
5* host and 5* accommodation. Only lost a star for personal preference of location as we do the walks from Reeth usually and found less short walks directly from this area for short stays with our littler dogs. But absolutely beautiful and picturesque village. Lovel the brownie on arrival and communal area where we enjoyed a lovely relaxing night reading in.
Looking for a relaxing weekend away in the Yorkshire Dale's? This intriguing Guest House is the place to go. Three delightful, spacious en suite clean rooms in a converted old corn mill on the river bank transport you back and give you a nostalgic experience mixing old Yourshire Dale's history blended with first world service from the owners Neil and Jane. Lovely breakfasts. Highly recommended place to stay.
Had a superb three night stay at Low Mill. Great location with walks from the door or a short drive away. Neil and Jane are fantastic hosts and the breakfasts are outstanding. The farm fresh eggs, homemade granola, bread, marmalade... amongst other items on the menu - definitely sets you up for a full morning walking or siteseeing. Beds are super comfortable, rooms spotless and a good size and lots of lovely homely touches. Will def return.
