Extremely bad delivery service. Bought a sideboard on Sunday 26th May 2025 for a AM delivery Saturday 31st May which had to be cancelled as no delivery arrived in Morning as we had to go out in afternoon. It was rebooked for Wednesday 5th June no delivery again as there phone call at 1246pm to state driver not in due to going to hospital. Now question to ask why wasn't there a phone call earlier than this or was this just a excuse ???? When we had a delivery from Wakefield store no problems it was delivered on time. I would never step foot in this Barnsley store again as they are useless will go instead to Wakefield far more reliable.
Very bad experience with BHF Barnsley. They failed to deliver the orded furniture 2 times. The reason delivery driver said he couldn't get through the street. it's better to post a driver who knows to drive.
Horrible customer service to say the least. I bought a brand new, not donated piece or furniture (which when we purchased, because one of my elder family members can’t speak the best english, we already got attitude from workers). Looked like brilliant quality however that was far from the truth. A few months after purchasing, we attempted to put up the table (we are renovating so couldn’t sooner) and saw that it was completely and utterly broken and cannot be put together. The table was for months was sitting in a box, not touched, not messed around with and certainly not broken by anyone. It is a faulty table and get I received no help and horrible customer service over the phone from workers who clearly believe they are better than the customers. It is not a good impression of the British Heart Foundation. I understand Maybe you would need to question why we hadn’t put the table up for months but we have spent £200 on a table and Some chairs that came in different boxes and only actually opened one of the boxes to see it was broken, you should at least try to help. Not only were they unable to help us but we got nothing but attitude over the phone. This is unacceptable and I can gladly say I will not be returning to the British Heart Foundation and would much rather make a donation to somewhere like the Salvation Army where they at least try to be kind.I have now been left with a family of 6 and no dining table (not to mention the £200 down the drain) do better and sort your workers out.
Fantastic charity and also very polite and friendly staff. Amazing discounts on home essentials also. Very impressed
I have been donating furniture and bits and bobs to British Heart Foundation Barnsley for several years now. I am very impressed with the collection service from start to finish and the selling of the goods. I always Gift Aid and as promised each year I get a letter informing me of what my donations have raised and how much more BHF can reclaim in the next tax year. This charity is much needed enabling them to purchase things like pacemakers, portable defibrillators, Heart transplants etc etc. I would recommend people donate to this much needed charity or a charity of their choice. The letter of thank you and information on how much my donations have raised is a nice touch. I have donated to other charities in the past, but not received a letter and I have also tried to sell things on places like Gumtree, only for someone to only want to pay for e.g a tenner for something to be worth £100, so I would rather donate goods to charity and know that things are going to a good cause. Thank you British Heart Foundation, Barnsley.
