Whistlestop Valley

Welcome to Whistlestop Valley an all-weather attraction located near Huddersfield, Wakefield and Barnsley. Based near the village of Clayton West, this family-friendly attraction is best known for the Kirklees Light Railway—the heart of its many adventures. Whether you're a train enthusiast, a family looking for a fun day out, or simply someone who appreciates the great outdoors, Whistlestop Valley promises big adventures on its narrow gauge railway.

Swing, jump and slide through the day on the outdoor adventure playground, bounce on their undercover jumping pillow, whizz around on the Pedal Cars and play a round of Crazy Golf - all with a Little Adventure ticket.

Or enjoy jam packed fun with a Big Adventure ticket. All the fun of their Little Adventure, but with unlimited train rides to Shelley station, where you will find The Playground, sandpit and The Turntable Dessert Parlour!

On selected term-time Fridays, bring your mini-me along for the Young Engineers days: a scaled-down version of a standard day aimed exclusively at toddlers and preschoolers. 

They have so much to get stuck into at Whistlestop Valley including: Footplate Rides, Birthday Parties and much more fun for the whole family!

There are a host of special events throughout the year to keep your little ones entertained: including, Day Out With Thomas, Easter and their popular Halloween/Christmas Events.
