We had a very pleasant stay in early September. A very peaceful site with all that s fifth wheel van needs. Very clean facilities and well situated for a trip to the coast or to York or the beautiful countryside. Special thanks for the extra help we received from Alan in our hour of need. We would stay again.
Lovely site and huge pitch, showers brand new, Sean's bar opposite is great and much bigger than you can see on the pics. Pub (New Inn) in Cliffe also lovely, dont do food but yiu can order a takeaway and eat there.
Amazing little gem of a site, adults only. We arrived to a lovely welcome from Alan in his dressing gown , he's a local celebrity for wearing his dressing gown , all day , welcoming his guests, toilet / shower block immaculate and warm , only worry I would have is in the summer may have a queue, as there is only 2 toilets and showers, I suppose we could use our caravan 🤣 well definitely be back
First , the positives:- Friendly welcome Clean facilities Large dog walking field Secure barrier entrance Now, the negatives:- No way suitable for camping. We were offered 2 pitches , one right by the entrance or one right by the shower block. We opted for the latter which was a big mistake. Alan, the groundskeeper, failed to mention we were only a couple of yards from the brown water disposal site which was totally open and not fenced off. We had other campers crammed right next to us There are no pot wash facilities on site but there are across the road although no running hot water there. Apparently , according to another customer, some of the caravan pitches had electric hook ups with no fuse protection. Sean’s Bar was very disappointing. The service was surly, the wine glasses filthy and the bar stunk of cigarette smoke. No hairdryers or shelving in the showers. CAMPERS AVOID!
Where do i start.... we booked here for the weekend via phone late this Friday afternoon as it was a spontaneous weekend whilst the kids were away. They were very welcoming and accomidating. Lovely change from the usual run down sites we have stayed at. All the staff were so friendly, they make you feel part of their community. Alan (grounds keep) greeted us on arrival and let us know where everything was along with his number for any further questions. Toilets, showers and Sean's bar on the sister site were all spotless! The pitches are a really good size and tent pitches ate close to the toilets and showers. Best part was definitely the large dog walking field, surround by trees still in their infancy so make sure your dog has good recall as its on road side and there a still gaps between they could get through. Thankyou for an amazing weekend, we will 100%be back again!
