Lovely place, not much wildlife around, but still worth a visit.

Beautiful location and great spot for a picnic. Stopped when passing through the area and looked for somewhere to have a picnic and this place was perfect. Looks like it would be great for watersports also. Unfortunately doesn't have a cafe or any amenities which is the only thing letting it down, but all in all, a great destination.

Absolutely stunning, so glad we made it. We enjoyed a lovely walk around the lake on a sun kissed afternoon, heaven on earth. Great variety of wildlife and flora. Park at the top of the lake, very welcoming farmer who keeps the area tidy and a very reasonable £3 to park. We will be returning.

Don't bother as you will be accosted by the local farmer the second you park up asking where your ticket is and that he will report you to the police if you don't buy one from him. He gave me a mouthful of abuse about people misusing the place and how it should be treated the same as any other council owned car park despite the fact it is not on council land. I advise avoiding this place as it is not worth the hassle that you will receive from a rich local landowner who acts as though he has no money despite being a member of one of the richest families in the entire Yorkshire Dales
