Sandsend beach is beautiful and it’s good for dog lovers. Up to 1 hour, only costs 40p. Remember to pay and display. Very cheap for a dog walk by the beach. You need to pay a bit more if you want to stay 2 or more hours. You can find some fossils if you look carefully by the beach.
Sandsend may well stand in the shadow of it's more illustrious neighbour, Whitby, but for many it's stunning location and tremendous views are a worthy counterpoint to it's hectic, more famous neighbour. The Coast Rd leading to it is a worthwhile journey in itself, particularly when creating Lythe Bank above Sandsend when the panoramic vista of the coastline to Whitby is truly spectacular! Lots of local facilities allied to a very good beach make it popular with families and tourists alike. Well worth a visit itself, or a stopping off point during your traverse of our wonderful north east coastline.
Large amounts of parking but on busy so finding a space can be a challenge. Long stay and not the cheapest. Issue with Whitby council as they charge 50p to use toilets.
Very nice beach 🏖️ dog friendly and kid safe 👍 and you never know what you will see in the sea 😉 xx
