Couldn't get in to charge due to ICE cars parked there. Had to drop all my family off and drive right up the top end of Whitby to get charged. Chatted with a council parking attendant while there as they also use EVs. She said they have the same frustrations and are powerless to do anything about it.
We use these points regularly and notice one of the chargers appears to be permanently bent and out of use. The other spaces are frequently taken up by non-ev cars, it's a busy Council run car park. When we flagged it up with Connected Kerb and sent photos, their reply was that some local authorities just arent interested. Which seems to be the case here, unfortunately.
We were lucky, arrived at 7pm got a space and left it overnight to charge. It is a slow charger but we were in no hurry. Unfortunately for anyone else the other 3 spaces had ICE cars in the spaces that night and a different three ICE cars in the spaces at lunchtime the next day. This is what happens and no one polices it. Really annoying as there isn't much choice in Whitby.
Eventually charged with help from Customer Services. Unfortunately, all but the one charger I was using were blocked by non-EV vehicles :(
