First thing is, if you dont allow people to arrive before 5pm, you need more light in winter months, there's no sign to say that its howsdale cottage unless your right up to it. In the dark it took ages to get the right cottage. The living room was charming, the kitchen was nice enough. The bedroom was small, with everything cramed in, a very hard uncomfortable bed. There's silly thing missing like the bulb not working in the hot tub area, which makes it again very dark. Finally, I've never been to an apartment/ cottage where you had to strip the bed and put it all in a bag, also towels/ bathrobes. Surely the cleaner can wear gloves if there afraid of germs. To be fair the people who work for shoreline were very polite / friendly on the phone when I was booking the accommodation.

Cottage was nice but was freezing when we arrived and didn’t really warm up. Bed very uncomfortable hard and covers were itching. Hot tub not great nowhere to turn temp up and we had to find the lights for over the hot tub as no sign how too. The area was great. Wouldn’t stay again sadly.

Lovely cottage, lovely and warm and everything you need, but bed was to firm and we could not stay all nights book and had no sleep. Shame because it's a lovely cottage

We have just stayed for 4 nights at Howdale Cottage. Firstly we had a really good time, the hot tub was great, the cottage was really warm and cosy. The area around Fylingthorpe and the walks were fantastic. The mattress on the bed was so hard and uncomfortable that we had to go to B & M bargains to buy a mattress topper, there were some other comments from previous customers in the comments book about the mattress saying the same thing. Some of the pans were dirty in the drawer and the non stick frying pan could do with replacing. If it hadn't have been for the mattress then we would have scored it 4 out of 5 and for this reason would not return (unless they replace the mattress)

Absolutely wonderful place. Beautiful location. Great for long walks followed by relaxing evenings in.
