Always a great visit if you’re a fan of steam. This year we travelled to Pickering and back on The Flying Scotsman. Probably the most famous locomotive in the world. Staff were very friendly and the tea room and shop were nice.
Cute little countryside station along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. We took the train from Whitby to Goathland and stopped at Grosmont on the way back to break up the journey. The station has a nice nostalgic charm, with a few amenities and a gift shop. There’s also a pub just a five-minute walk away with an outdoor terrace, although we didn’t stop in so can’t comment on it. Lovely spot for a quick stop or to soak in the heritage atmosphere.
What a very proud moment seeing and riding on The flying Scotsman did not disappoint well done to all involved..you all do a wonderful job..
North Yorkshire moors railway is always a great place to visit. The moors are wonderful. The meal on the Pulman was excellent. What a great experience.
£5 to park all day and very handy too!! There were a few spaces left when we arrived mid morning!
