Get ready, because the summer music scene in Yorkshire just got a whole lot louder. For all the pop punk fans out there, an already brilliant tour has just added another legendary name to the list. Imagine two of your favourite bands deciding to tour together, and then, just when you think it can’t get any better, they announce another one is joining them. That’s exactly what’s happened. The much-anticipated joint headline tour from Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls now includes another massive name from the world of alternative rock. The American rockers American Hi-Fi are officially joining the party as special guests for two massive outdoor shows right here in Yorkshire.

An already epic tour just got better

Texas pop-punk legends Bowling For Soup and the UK’s own folk-punk hero Frank Turner were already set to deliver a tour for the ages with their Bowl My Bones Tour. They’re bringing their massive back catalogue of anthems to two of the best outdoor venues in the country. First, they’ll be taking over the stunning courtyard of TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall in Halifax on Tuesday, 30th June. Just two days later, they’re heading to the coast for a show at the TK Maxx presents Scarborough Open Air Theatre in Scarborough on Thursday, 2nd July.

And now for the brilliant extra bit. The alternative rock band American Hi-Fi will be warming up the stage at both the Halifax and Scarborough shows. This isn’t just any support slot, it’s a perfect addition to a lineup that’s already packed with incredible music and promises nothing but good times. For fans of guitars, catchy choruses, and singalong nights, this is the tour of the summer.

A blast from the past for a big anniversary

For American Hi-Fi, this is a huge deal. The year 2026 marks the band’s 25th anniversary, so what better way to celebrate than by jumping on a massive tour with old friends? If you were listening to rock music in the early 2000s, you’ll definitely remember their monster hit, Flavor Of The Weak. It was everywhere! Think of it like a song that goes viral on TikTok today, but for the radio and MTV generation. But they’re not a one-hit wonder, with other brilliant tracks like The Art Of Losing and The Geeks Get The Girls.

What makes this even more special is that this will be the first time the American band has played in the UK in over a decade. It’s a rare chance to see them live. Frontman Stacy Jones is clearly buzzing for it.

“The UK holds a special place in our hearts. From legendary Reading and Leeds sets to our own massive headline nights, the fans here are world-class. We’re thrilled to be joining the Bowl My Bones Tour with our friends Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner, and so excited to mark our 25th anniversary.”

What the headliners are saying

It’s not just American Hi-Fi who are excited. Both Bowling For Soup and Frank Turner seem genuinely thrilled to have them along for the ride. It’s like when your two best mates finally meet your other best mate, and everyone just clicks. The whole vibe of this tour is shaping up to be one big, happy, loud party.

BFS frontman Jaret Reddick, the voice behind so many pop-punk classics, had this to say about the lineup:

“I’m a huge Frank Turner fan…everyone knows that! I love his music and I love just sitting around and talking to him because he reads books and I don’t! So to finally be able to do a proper tour together is a literal dream come true. Now with American Hi-Fi in the mix, it is going to be absolutely epic! We love those dudes and they are the icing on the proverbial cake!”

And Frank Turner, who’s known for his clever lyrics and incredible live energy, is just as excited, if a little terrified by the sheer amount of fun that’s about to be unleashed.

“Touring the UK with Bowling For Soup was shaping up to be a level of awesome that was frankly dangerous to the public, so we thought we’d add a chaperone to calm things down. Unfortunately, we made a gross error, and now we have American Hi-Fi on the bill as well, which means it’s going to be a borderline unstable mix of good times and good tunes. I’m terrified and totally stoked!”

A bit about the headliners

For anyone who might not know, Bowling For Soup have been the kings of fun-loving pop-punk for about 30 years. Their gigs feel less like a formal concert and more like a massive party with all your mates. They had huge hits in the UK with songs like Girl All The Bad Guys Want, 1985, and High School Never Ends. They are masters of writing songs that are both funny and incredibly catchy, and they guarantee a good time.

Then there’s Frank Turner. His career has been built on non-stop touring and writing songs that really connect with people. He’s played over 3,000 shows with his amazing backing band, The Sleeping Souls. He’s had a Number 1 album in the UK and has sold over a million records worldwide. His music blends the energy of punk with the storytelling of folk, and his live shows with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls are legendary for the sense of community and singalongs. This Bowl My Bones Tour is not just a gig, it's a celebration of live music.
