Meet the new special guests
So, who are these new faces ready to warm up the crowds in Halifax? Each one brings something completely different to the table, making their respective shows even more of a must-see. It's a testament to the event organisers that they continue to add such high-calibre talent as special guests, ensuring every night is a full-package experience. Let's get to know them a bit better.
First up is Du Blonde, the fiery alter ego of artist Beth Jeans Houghton. She’s set to support the absolutely legendary double-headline show from Skunk Anansie and Garbage on Tuesday, 16th June. Talk about a perfect fit. Du Blonde is known for a high-energy, DIY sound that’s both raw and catchy. After a completely sold-out tour in 2025, she is back with a vengeance. Her latest album, Sniff More Gritty, is full of explosive riffs and power-pop hooks that are sure to get the Piece Hall courtyard rocking. Fans of authentic, powerful rock music are in for a real treat. It’s always worth checking out her work on YouTube to see what the fuss is about.
Next, getting the party started for the one and only Billy Ocean (and his very special guest Marti Pellow) will be DJ Katie Owen. She’ll be on the decks for both of his dates on Friday, 10th July and Sunday, 12th July. Katie Owen is a true rising star in the DJ world, having already played on massive stages, including the 2022 FIFA World Cup. She has a real knack for reading a crowd and bringing an infectious energy to every set. Anyone heading to see Billy Ocean is guaranteed a brilliant start to their evening. Her popularity is clear from her strong presence on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
On Friday, 17th July, the wonderful Katy J Pearson will be appearing as a special guest for the brilliant CMAT. This pairing feels like a match made in heaven. Katy J Pearson is a phenomenal singer-songwriter whose music has a beautiful Americana feel. She's been touring all over, winning over audiences while supporting huge acts like Wet Leg and The Last Dinner Party. Her live shows are known for being captivating, and she'll no doubt create a magical atmosphere before CMAT takes the stage. The addition of Katy J Pearson makes this particular show an unmissable one for fans of great songwriting.

And finally, the Toronto-based indie-pop band The Hidden Cameras are confirmed as the special guests for the iconic Scissor Sisters on Sunday, 9th August. This is another inspired choice. The Hidden Cameras are known for their vibrant and celebratory live shows. Last year saw the release of their much-anticipated dance-pop album, BRONTO, which even got the remix treatment from electronic legends like Pet Shop Boys. Their sound is the perfect appetiser for a night with the Scissor Sisters.

A truly special venue
For anyone who hasn't experienced a gig at The Piece Hall, it's hard to describe just how amazing it is. The Grade I listed building isn't just a music venue; it's a piece of history. It first opened way back in 1779 as a place to trade cloth, and it's the only Georgian cloth hall left in the world. Its stunning open-air courtyard creates an atmosphere that is simply unmatched. Seeing world-class artists play in such a unique and historic setting makes every concert feel incredibly special. It’s a venue that has rightly won awards for being an inspirational place for arts and culture, making the TK Maxx presents Live at The Piece Hall series an essential part of the UK's summer music calendar.
