We have used McBride & Sons for both our mother’s and father’s funerals, and each time their care has been outstanding. From the very first call to the final farewell, Antony, Alastair and their team treated us with deep compassion and respect. They were always responsive and professional, but most importantly they showed real warmth and sensitivity at a time when we felt vulnerable and overwhelmed. They handled every detail with dignity, and supported our family’s cultural and religious customs without us needing to ask. Having them by our side brought us comfort — and for that we are truly grateful.

My father died in August 2025 in York at 101 years old from a short illness. Alastair Strutt was a tower of strength to me and my two brothers. He and Anthony came over to York to pick up and transport Dad over to Harrogate so he could rest in peace before his funeral. Alastair talked me through the whole process and made it as painless as possible. His compassion and thoughtfulness cannot be overstated. I would have no hesitation in recommending McBride & Sons to anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves needing their services, they are second to none.

My husband died at just 42 years old. Very unexpectedly. I couldn’t have wished for a better service from Antony and team. The level of service went over and above at every step. I am beyond grateful for such help at a time when I needed it most. I cannot praise highly enough. Thank you.
