Brilliant when you're in the hall, good layout. Food was fine and catered for many diners. Only one snag, the walk from the car park was long and quite steep, exacerbated by driving rain and near freezing conditions. I was here for the Northern wood show, the demographic for this event is older people, average probably 65+ A shuttle service should be provided, ticket price would easily cover it -- it does at the NEC. You could be taken ill, didn't see any St John's Ambulance in evidence.
Very well organised. Lots of disabled parking. Lots of staff on hand Very well signposted. Overwhelmingly huge. We didn’t manage to visit majority. At every turn there was something going on. Something for everyone. Will definitely revisit next year. Missed out on so much I would recommend you wear comfy shoes you will cover a lot of ground
Brilliant, if expensive, day out. Great atmosphere and plenty to see and do. It was extremely hot when we visited and more shaded areas to sit would have been welcomed but we still had a fantastic day out with the highlight being the enormous Ferris wheel which gave a wonderful view! The mobility scooter hire was also very welcome - it made the day so much easier and more enjoyable as someone with a chronic illness!
Always lovely to visit the great Yorkshire Christmas event. They would achieve 5* if they, like most other venues, offered more gluten and dairy free options. At the end of the day my friends and I hitched a lift in the back of a golf buggy. Thank goodness our knight in shining armour was there to take us back to the car or we would have had to walk a long way to the car park. I had free tickets but you can get them really cheap on wowcher etc.
It was my second visit to the Great Yorkshire Show. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a treat to see the animals. I particularly enjoyed the opera tenors and man standing on the backs of horses while they ran around the showring. The variety of shops was impressive. There's definitely something for everyone here. I would definitely visit again.
