Active North Yorkshire - The Hydro Harrogate Leisure and Wellness Hub Centre

Just visited the sunday swimming session and was incredibly pleased with the opening times - 9-1 for a general swim for both the learner and main pool. Rachel on Reception was excellent, so friendly and helpful and the changing rooms were clean and spacious perfect for single swimmers or larger groups. The pools were lovely to swim in and lifeguards respectful and watchful. Thank you so much for an enjoyable swim!

I was a member for years, but it had to come to an end due to the policy of charging people when missing or cancelling classes. I was charged 7.50 twice in 2 days. One fine was fair and I paid it because I did indeed take a place from someone else. The other one was very unfair. As I was unaware that the policy says cancellation is not allowed within 3 hours. The class was cancelled 2 hours prior but it had 2 people booked on if that. There were plenty of spaces. I tried appealing but there is a lady at reception (short hair, glasses) who has terrible attitude towards customers and she almost makes people feel as if we all inconvenience her with our issues, but yet again she sits at reception and works as a receptionist 🤷🏻‍♀️ This lady bluntly refused to even talk about it and when I explained that I am unable to pay £14-15 on top of my £45 membership she happily went ahead and cancelled my membership and made comments like “You won’t be able to use the facilites anyway because you’re not paying your fine.” This caused 2 more people to cancel their membership. It is a shame because the centre has Claire, Sam, Kat and Anita who are absolutely amazing and outstanding instructors.

A lovely, newly refurbished pool which we visit regularly as a family. There are fun sessions with an inflatable and floats which are usually busy but we enjoy just having a general swim and making our own fun. Changing rooms are clean and there are plenty of family changing rooms which is a nice extra :-) There is a sauna but we’ve never tried it and a well equipped gym upstairs which again we haven’t used so can’t comment on.

Recently joined this gym absolutely love its super clean equipment is amazing great classes available sauna and steam room are a great size and regularly cleaned the pool is amazing separate area ideal for children and massive pool with lanes for adults 😀

Amazing facilities recently opened in September 2023. Super friendly staff. Gym, sauna, steam room, Studios, swimming pools, diving pits, and you've got to check out the immersive studio downstairs 😲
