The ice was cracked, full of water and actual ridges for the most part, meaning that you couldn't skate unless you wanted a bumpy experience. The children were disheartened as having been to other ice rinks where they can actually skate, this made it seem like it was impossible. There was no way you could get any type of gliding on and people were falling over all the time. Many customers went round once and went immediately to complain. We asked at the counter and they told us that we would have to email for a refund. I won't hold my breath. Please don't give them your custom.

We visited the ice rink last night, and although we had fun, it's only because how laughably bad it was!! The ice was either a puddle or so thin there were ridges, I assume from the boards underneath the ice. We go skating every year, and I appreciate it's hard to keep the functional in warming temperatures but last night the rink should not have opened! The ridges and water was dangerous, I complained at the time and the girls on the counter could only tell us the insurance manager had told them they could open that morning. Which is alarming that these discussions for one are even being had (so you knew it was an issue) and two, that the ice was not reassessed after each skate. We were a group of 8 and mixed abilities. The newbies, couldn't skate and lasted 10minutes, the bumps in the ice made it impossible for beginners to get traction (literal speed bumps) and then at the opposite end the good skaters *like really good! Were still falling* which in I've not seen in 6 odd years of skating together. All in all, it was a terrible experience, we were on the ice all of 10/20mins trying to make the most of it. But ultimately, as it was, a danger to us and other skaters being on it. For what we got £11 is over priced, we live in Edinburgh, the rink is twice the size, properly maintained and cheaper... If you've bought tickets I'd try get a refund its really not worth it. And if you're thinking of going, try stockeld park or York designer outlet instead *wish we had!!

If it be possible I wish give them 0 no any stars. Ice ring is very dangerous and we after 5 min go back. We dont want to our kids broken leg or anything hurts. We go to desk and they totally ignored us and they send us to website and write emails with complaints. But we want to refund now because it is fraud peoples and nonsense. We want to go for fun and play with kids and we totally disappointed. My partner not give them back skates and after him go two guys and dont want to let him go out. We said we back it when you refund us our money. Now they very fast find manager, when before they said is nobody here who we can speak. Manager want to skates back so resolved problem and refund £50 cash for our tickets. But terrible it is when you need faight about your money...

Having been to the beautiful white rose ice Rink last year we decided to go upmarket and travel to Harrogates ice Rink. The kids were very excited even though it was a 2 hour round trip. Disappointed didn't even come close when we arrived. We walked through what fealt like a run down gypsy fairground to be met by the ice Rink which was surrounded by rotten uneven decking that was falling apart. We were handed our rusty knackered ice skates and proceeded to the ice. You call it ice but it was half melted, full off huge pot hole and ripples that reminded me of the roads in my home town. The whole thing was totally run down and a total eyesore. If you want a nice ice skating experience then stay well away from here and visit white rose instead!!

Worst ice rink I have ever been on. Staff disinterested. Massive ridges in the ice. Impossible to skate properly and incredibly dangerous. The blades of the skates are rusty and they kept unfastening. Generally a terrible experience.
